Privacy Policy

We collect personal and health information necessary to provide you with safe, effective dental prosthetic care. This includes:

• Identity & contact details — your name, date of birth, address, phone number and email address.
• Health information — your dental and medical history, current medications, allergies, impressions, photographs, x-ray referrals and clinical notes relevant to your denture treatment.
• Appointment & billing records — booking history, treatment plans, quotes, invoices and payment details (card type only; we do not store full card numbers).
• Communications — the content of enquiries, emails and messages you send us, and records of phone calls.

We generally collect this information directly from you. On occasion we may collect it from a referrer (such as your dentist or GP) or a person responsible for your care, but only with your consent or where permitted by law.

We use your personal and health information to:

• assess, plan and provide your denture treatment and ongoing care;
• communicate with you about appointments, results and recalls;
• process payments and maintain accurate financial records;
• coordinate care with your dentist, GP or other health providers (with your consent);
• meet our legal, regulatory and professional obligations as dental prosthetists;
• respond to your enquiries and provide the services you request; and
• improve the quality and safety of our clinical services.

We do not use your health information for direct marketing without your express consent, and we will never sell your personal information to third parties.

We may disclose your information to:

• your other treating health practitioners (such as your dentist or GP), where relevant to your care and with your consent;
• laboratories or suppliers involved in fabricating your dentures, to the extent necessary;
• our trusted service providers (for example IT, booking or payment processors) who help us run the practice, under appropriate confidentiality obligations;
• regulatory bodies, health funds or as otherwise required or authorised by Australian law.

Your information is stored electronically and in hard copy within our practice management systems. We take reasonable steps to protect it against misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, using secure storage, access controls and backups. Clinical records are retained for the period required by Australian healthcare record-keeping requirements.

You may request access to, or correction of, the personal and health information we hold about you. Please contact us in writing and we will respond within a reasonable time. We may refuse access in limited circumstances permitted by law and will explain the reason if we do.

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles you have the right to:

• know what personal information we hold about you and why;
• access and correct that information;
• request that we stop using or disclose your information; and
• lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

Where treatment is provided to a minor or a person unable to consent for themselves, we collect information from a parent, guardian or person responsible. We handle that information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
